Faculty of Construction Equipment and Environmental Engineering
The Department of Construction Equipment and Environment Engineering offers 6 full-time programs, including water supply and drainage engineering technology, construction equipment engineering technology, construction electric engineering technology, fire engineering technology, intelligent building engineering technology and city gas engineering technology. There are nearly 45 staff and faculty serving and over 1600 full-time students studying here. In addition, since 2014, with the joint efforts with Guilin University of Technology and Nanning Normal University, the program of water supply and drainage engineering technology has been built to be one of the pilot programs of “Application-Oriented Undergraduate Education” in the first-run selection by the Department of Education of Guangxi.
With the earliest start and many efforts, it has achieved a lot at all levels. It has1 program as national specialty with distinctive vocational features and 1 National Professional Training Base for Construction Technology; In provincial level, it has 1 Demonstration Specialty, Practice and Training Base , 1 Superior Specialty, 1 Excellent Teaching team, 2 high-quality course modules. It now owns a faculty of 34 full-time teachers, among which, 15 are full and associate professors, 30 teachers have had rich working experiences and qualifications of another sector, and are entitled with Registered Equipment Engineer or Registered Consultant Engineer. It has invited 20 well-famed scholars, professionals and entrepreneurs to serve as guest lecturers.
Fruitful achievements have also been made by the students in various contests at all levels. In the 2nd National College BIM Modeling Competition, the students have won the champion on the specialty of equipment design and HVAC load , the first prize on the specialty of energy-saving design and sunshine analysis. A Student team, named Environmental Public Welfare Technology Project Team, has been awarded the title of “Excellent Society” by the China Environmental Protection Foundation for three consecutive years, and is the only student association in the country that has won this honor. In 2014 and 2016, it won the second prize in National Vocational School Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition respectively, and won the Silver Award in the District Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for several times. The employment rate of graduates in the past five years has exceeded 95%. The graduates are working in 13 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in China, and highly praised by employers.
